The Con of the Confluence
The Confluence is a blog set up by Hillary Clinton supporters who’s sole mission is to bash Barack Obama. This is the first con.. as they’ll have you believe it’s purpose is reform of core democratic principles, counting the votes of every state even though Michigan’s primary was a sham. Although I’m sure they were fine with Clinton campaign manager Terry McAuliffe’s prediction early in the race that it would only be a 27 state race that would be over in early 2008. This is false as many commentors on the site have committed their Democrat votes to John McCain and by their bashing of Obama have indirectly supported John McCain. So much for principles.
The name of the site is also a con. Confluence is a joining of two streams.. there is only one stream of thought here, and no other thoughts are allowed in unless they conform to the ideals of the blog posts and moderators. It is vigorously policed of any and all pro Obama supporters however civil, insightful or inquisitive they might be (cowards). They should change the name to “the influence” as Merriam defines influence as “a corrupt interference with authority for personal gain”. It’s a corrupt influence as it’s likely that this molecule is made up wolves in sheep clothing…like Clinton’s 4 McCain (an even lower for of slime as they thrive on xenophobia..even posting a picture of Obama in tradition african dress and McCain in his flight suit asking “what’s your choice?”) they’re posing as Democrats. Yes..they are POSERS. Any true Democrat could not begin to fathom voting for John McCain. And any true Hillary Clinton supporter would see that the agenda of John McCain is a direct contradiction to Hillary’s ideals. There is a personal gain in that their motives are purely selfish. They want their candidate to be the nominee and damn the country otherwise. Some even go so far as saying their willing to deal with 4 more years of the Bush doctrine to see Hillary run again in 2012. This is the type of insanity we’re dealing with here.
Everyone has an agenda..some are just completely irrational.

I mostly agree, the people who supported Hil should support Obama because they really don’t differ in their ideas or beliefs. Both are to the left, Obama is further then Hil but McCain is not a moderate so by voting or supporting McCain they are going against most of their belefs.
It’s like republicans supporting Obama, well if you are a republican supporting Obama then you are going against your beliefs.

There was a world of difference between the two. It doesn’t make your point to imply sameness. The left is no more a monolith than the right. That said, I support McCain and Palin, but I do insist on truth and I don’t see it here.

well you sure paint in broad strokes Hank..
“a world of difference between the two” and then you don’t mention any.
you show me how McCain’s agenda is more similar to Hillary’s than Obama’s.
you insist on truth yet point out no falsehoods.. forget the fact that this was a post on my OPINION on a certain political circle of people.

How does this hurt you? everyone has their own say, and free country and all of that. Problem is that it sounds like you want to take their free speech away because you disagree with it. It’s an old trick to attack someone then mock them for being defensive. What specifically in the Credo do you not agree with?
If they think Clinton is the best choice, isn’t that up to them?

Oh, and it isn’t bashing if it’s true. He and his surrogates have been disgusting in their treatment of Palin, and they have attack her as a woman. Very vile stuff. It just doesn’t cut it for him to give a wink and a nod and tell them to cut it out. And, he sure knew she made a memorable reference to her wearing lipstick just a few days before his “pig and lipstick crack”. He was calling her a pig and McCain and old fish…very low brow stuff for someone who says he’’s ushering in a new age of civility.
I was an Obamabot before Trinity came and took that plug out of the back of my neck, so I’ve seen the issue from a few sides. Obama is hard to defend. I tried it for a few weeks.

james357.. “Credos”, “Obamabots” and “Trinity”? oookay.
I’m not trying to take anyone’s free speech…that’s ridiculous. (Otherwise Vic would’ve been banned months ago) I’m merely criticizing what’s coming out of their mouths.
I’ve posted on the Lipstick BS (you know.. where John McCain uses it referring to Hillary’s healthcare plan?) Obama was talking about McCain’s POLICY and not Palin herself. It’s a METAPHOR. To say he called Sarah Palin a pig is REACHING at best. Give it a rest and try running on some issues for once. For godsakes these people think the economy is doing fine, there’s nothing wrong with our healthcare system and that a little more oil is the future. Instead let’s label this candidate a sexist when it has no merit. How anyone could label Barack Obama a “sexist” and not do the same for John McCain is delusional or just dishonest.
I find it far easier to defend Obama when you look at the record of the GOP. Americans ARE NOT better off with the Republicans in charge.
